This section provides details on the range of subjects and classes offered at our school. All CBE programs follow the Alberta Programs of Study mandated curriculum which includes learning in the following core areas:

  • HUM:  English Language Arts and Social Studies
  • SMATH:  Mathematics and Science
  • Physical Education and Health

Our school also offers several Complementary Courses to meet our students’ unique learning needs, interests and abilities.  Please see the RESOURCES (far right) for our current course offerings for 2025-26.  We are hopeful to have all student requests by March 3, 2025, so we can begin building next year's timetable. If your child misses this deadline, they can still come into the main office or contact Mr. Jensen: lgjensen@cbe.ab.ca or Ms. Reynolds: sareynolds@cbe.ab.ca.

Homeroom

At SJAM you will be assigned a homeroom teacher who acts as a mentor in supporting your learning. Through homeroom, you will engage in school-wide learning tasks and activities, and receive critical information such as report cards, forms that need parent/guardian signature and other various school communications. Your homeroom teacher is available to help you problem solve and provide resources to support your learning.

Communication

D2L (Desire to Learn) is our secure online Learning Management System. You can log in using the same username and password that you use at school. As a student, you will have access to a D2L “shell” for all of your courses. Your teachers will maintain the shells to provide information about the course as well as updates related to your progress. You can also access “THE SJAM CONNECTION” D2L shell which is an important tool to stay informed and to contribute to our collective student voice.

Encourage your parent or guardian to visit the site with you on a regular basis.
