Good afternoon SJAM families,
As we move into November, there is much to celebrate across our school community. Thank you for your continued support in helping make Sir John A. Macdonald a welcoming, engaging, and vibrant place for all students.
School News & Reminders
Halloween Dance Success!
Our Halloween Dance was a tremendous success! Students and staff embraced the spirit of the event with creativity, enthusiasm, and some truly incredible costumes. The energy throughout the evening was fantastic, and it was wonderful to see our school community having so much fun together. A special thank you goes to our Leadership students, Ms. Ralph, and the Physical Education team for their hard work in planning and running such a memorable event.
Hallway Safety – No Hoods in Hallways
To support a safe and secure learning environment, students will be expected to remove their hoods while in the hallways. This allows staff to clearly identify students and helps us maintain awareness of who is in our building at all times. We appreciate your support and cooperation with this important safety measure.
Remembrance Day Colour Guard
We are currently looking for students interested in serving as part of our Colour Guard for the Remembrance Day Assembly. Students who are members of organizations such as Scouts, Cadets, Girl Guides, or similar groups are encouraged to participate. Interested students should connect with Mr. K. as soon as possible.
Practice Lockdown Drill
A practice lockdown drill will take place on Tuesday morning. Staff will review procedures and expectations with students during homeroom on Monday to ensure everyone understands the process and can participate calmly and appropriately.
Fall Break Reminder
Please note that Fall Break runs from November 11–15. We hope our students and families enjoy a restful and enjoyable break.

Basketball Expectations
We are excited to support our student-athletes throughout the basketball season and look forward to seeing strong school spirit at our games. To help ensure a positive experience for everyone, please review the following expectations with your child:
- Students must be in attendance during the school day (except for excused absences such as medical or dental appointments) in order to remain after school and attend home games as spectators.
- Students attending away games as spectators must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Students are expected to remain in designated spectator areas during games.
- No food or drinks are permitted on the stage while watching games.
- Cell phones must be put away during games.
- Students must demonstrate respectful behaviour toward players, coaches, officials, spectators, and visiting schools at all times.
Our students represent SJAM whenever they attend athletic events. We expect all spectators to contribute positively to a welcoming, respectful, and supportive atmosphere.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our students, staff, and athletic programs. Have a wonderful week, Mustangs!
