We hope you had a restful Spring Break and are excited to jump into a strong and positive finish to the school year. With only three months left, we are looking forward to returning to meaningful learning opportunities, generating school spirit, and engaging interested students in numerous activities.
A new Yo-Yo Club will be starting on Thursday at lunch in Room 18 with Ms. Bower. Students are asked to bring their own yo-yos. Please see the link for a full listing of SJAM’s clubs.
Note: Good Friday (statutory holiday in Alberta) is on Friday, April 3. In alignment with the 2025–26 CBE Calendar, there will be no school for students or staff.
School Council Meeting Opportunity
SJAM School Council and John Diefenbaker School Council have coordinated an opportunity for families to connect with Ms. Laura Hack, CBE School Trustee, on Tuesday, April 14 at the John Diefenbaker High School Council meeting (6:30 PM start).

SJAM Talent Show
Student Council is excited to host our annual SJAM Talent Show.
Auditions will take place:
Monday, April 6 and Tuesday, April 7 at lunch
Students can:
- Sign up on the list in the front foyer by Thursday, April 2
- Ms. Ralph and Ms. Greenham will create a tryout schedule

Judging Rubric
The judging rubric includes the following elements:
- Preparation and readiness
- Stage presence and confidence
- Technical skills
- Creativity and originality
- School-appropriate content
Talent Show Expectations
- Be prepared
Students should come to auditions with their act rehearsed, organized, and performance-ready. - Keep acts school appropriate
Music, costumes, language, and content must reflect SJAM’s expectations for a safe and respectful learning environment. - Time limit
Maximum of 3 minutes per act. - Bring required materials
Students are responsible for bringing any instruments, props, music tracks, or equipment needed for their performance. - Respect the audition process
All performers must participate in auditions on the assigned date. - Demonstrate positive behavior
Kindness, sportsmanship, and respectful conduct are expected at all times toward peers, equipment, and the audience. - Be flexible
Final performance order, timing, and staging decisions are determined by teachers and Student Council to ensure a safe and smooth show over the three days. - Group acts
All members of a group must be present at auditions and agree on the content of the act. - Safety first
Acts involving stunts, risky movement, or unsafe props will not be permitted.
The SJAM Talent Show will take place at lunch on April 14, 15, and 16 in the Main Gym.

Community Resources
Royal City Soccer Club
The Royal City Soccer Club, a registered non-profit community organization, is proud to host its 31st annual grassroots summer soccer day camps.
The program promotes personal development, team building, and fun. Camps include a soccer-focused morning session and a leisure swim with organized afternoon activities for children aged 5 to 13.
Programs run during all weeks in July and August.

Is your child interested in playing cricket, badminton, basketball, volleyball, curling, flag rugby, soccer, netball, or indoor tennis?
Spring SportHub lessons are now open for registration, offering free and low-cost sport programs for kids and teens ages 6–17.
In Huntington Hills, programs include:

Ten Peaks Innovation Summer Camp
Sign up to learn STEM skills related to sustainability this summer with Ten Peaks Innovation's Summer Camp: Bot Basics and Beyond.
Students aged 12–15 will participate in five half-day robotics camps designed to inspire the next generation of innovators.
